Car Loan & Driving Licence Query

Hey All.

My girlfriend wants to get 'us' a new car and she wants to get a car loan or a car on finance.

The problem I have been finding is that as she doesn't drive they wont offer her car finance as they need her to have a driving licence.

I however have a full licence etc.

Are there any companies that would put the loan/finance through in her name but allow me as the primary driver i.e. use my drivers licence.

Her credit rating isn't the best simply as she has never had much credit before and so we are limited with which companies we can try already.

Hmm. Your probably right there in relation to a car loan. However if she wanted to go down the route of HP then would she definitely need a licence?

We're with welcome car finance (Ouch, I know. lol) and although my husband has only got a provisional license it's his name first on the loan and mine second (Joint application) even though I'm the main driver with the full license.

Yeah, I was considering a joint application but my credit history is rubbish due to me being on a self-managed DMP for nearly a year now.

I didn't want to financially link my OH to all my debt .. but was unsure that if we made a joint app on say a HP agreement on a car then would that only link us financially on that one account or would she be linked to me and all my other debt?

TBH your realy looking at a bank loan or welcome finance.. if you go with the second option expect to be paying loads. mabie double what you lent

personally is it not worth just getting a cheap banger thats going to last for 10 months for a few hundred quid
