I have unfortunately recently become seperated from my wife and am back living in my parents spare room (great;))
Rather than looking for somewhere to rent, i am looking into buying a one bed flat for myself.
I currently earn £26k pa and take home around £1600 pcm. I do not have a deposit saved currently.
i have a CCJ with £2000 to pay on it since 2005.(this is due to my stupidly getting a catelogue in my name for a family member with a poor history who promptly defaulted) I am sure that the obvious advice is to get a settlement on this and focus getting this removed before considering mortgage etc - and this is what i intend to do. following this i will look to begin saving for a deposit.
I have no loans, credit cards or overdrafts and do not intend on ever having any. my outgoings at present are minimal
i have found a property for £99,500.00 which i could easily afford the repayments on a 25/30 year mortgage.
My questions i guess are thus:
1) how quickly do you think i could potentially look at purchasing a property - given the CCJ issue and lack of deposit on a property of the above value?
2) i really would like to buy asap but am aware that purchasing a property is not a right. I am happy to save but how much do you think i would need to save at the least in order to purchase?
any advice or knowledge would be most appreciated!:D

Without a deposit of at least 10% you have no chance with any lender.
Chances are with the CCJ you would need a 20% deposit as most if not all high street lenders would decline due to the CCJ.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
