So some people can't afford to buy christmas presents this year, so have made pacts with their friends not to buy each other presents that would just mean everyone to go overdrawn.
Then, Boots come along with a TV ad saying "great deals on gifts... even though you're not buying presents this year".
Hang on, you b@stards. Stop trying to coax people who have made a concious decision NOT to spend money, into spending money they can't afford.

They are a business, they exist because they have been able to make money and will only continue to exist if they continue to make money.
Your mistake was to think that any business shop or otherwise was on the side of the no-spend consumer.0 -
Yes, I don't like the Boots adverts - they seem really shallow.
However, we now have a Boots in our town and it's great.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
It's an ad campaign. They're not trying to con you into anything, just trying to have a niche selling point. I work in advertising, and even the big fish have to have a something that makes them look like they give S*!t about us little people!
Just have a laugh about it with your friends. Don't worry about what a shop says!Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -
That must be why the guy from four lions wanted to blow up Boots.0
