Tesco online shopping virgin

Please move if in the wrong place - ta

I have just completed my first Tesco online shop. I'd like to know is there anything I should be alert for? For example what happens if I'm not happy with the quality, or it's late being delivered etc:eek: Your comments would be gratefully received:T

  • I've had nothing but good experiences with tesco so can't really comment on problems! They were always bang on time, once or twice rang to ask if it would be okay to come 1/2 hr earlier as they werd running ahead of schedule, and everything was always exactly what i wanted / had be substituted correctly. I love 'em :D

I've had a few problems with BOGOF items both being charged for, but there is a helpline number at the bottom of the receipt and I've just rang them and they've credited my account no problem. I have had over ripe fruit delivered in the past so now ask for under ripe bananas and peaches etc. Generally (especially since always getting it delivered free using voucher codes) I love 'em too!

If late ring customer services and they refund the delivery, also check any replacement itmes when thet arrive while the driver is there as they sneakily chrage more if the replacement costs more (asda charge the same or less for replacements) I once ordred 10 boxes magnums for a kids party 49p special offer and they brough 10 at £1.99 bit miffed but refused them driver fine said don't blame you.

Any expensive items eg wine beer check they are there I had a very expensive bottle of scotch go missing lucky I noticed at the time and it was 'found' in the van later that day! Good luck hope you used a £10 off code!

But most drivers excellent and do recommend them as good drivers if you are pleased I emailed customer servives yo say I was pleased and when he came the next time he was very helpful and said it's nice to get some praise instead of flack!

i had my first delivery this week and must say everything was great! I hate shopping and this was delivered to the door, on time, all packed in bags (my only gripe was that they used too many bags!!) ! item wasnt in stock and as it was a game there was no substitution (i didnt think they would have any as it was a silly price!). all the BOGOFs were present and correct. When i was unpacking it though i noticed that i had wrongly ordered 2 items( a bogof) and they were chilled goods. It was completely my fault and only a couple of pounds but my oh would not eat them as they had mayo in and i dont like them so i took them back to my nearest shop the next day and explained i had wrongly ordered and they exchanged them. they said they dont usually exchange chilled goods unless bad etc but as it was online they did and no problems. I am addicted now
  • sujamjen and mrs baggins I have pm'd you some info. Hope it is of some use.
  • I have had a few problems with Tesco..at first it was because I had ordered things that didn't turn up- but then it works both ways; occasionally i get things in my bags that i didn't order or pay for..must have fallen out of someone else's shopping while the van went over a speed bump or something!
However when they delivered 'baking potatoes' that were little bigger than an apple; and even these had manky ends with gashes and bruises on, I was not impressed!

However I have had to write to them before and they have always reimbursed me with vouchers so I am happy with that. I personally prefer Sainsburys- the quality of the fresh fruit and veg is soo much higher, and they have a 1 hour time slot which if they don't make, you get a free £10 voucher! (min spend only £25)! They rarely have to substitute items either..go Sainsburys! (Oh, if only they were a bit cheaper, I would shop there more often)
