RMA debt collection

Hi,
I am trying to write to RMA (Risk Management Alternatives), as I received a letter this morning from them. But they do not have any address on the letter!!

I think that RMA are based in Preston.

Anyone have a contact address?
thanks,

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the address.

At the bottom of the letter it just states "For and on behalf of RMA" and ""Collections Manager"

It's concerning a debt I have with MINT.

But, the debt is claimed to be OWNED by Wescot and also Moorcroft as well !! Just sending a CCA letter to them.

My BR date is now confirmed as 17th Nov, so just wanted to be polite to them and respond.

Was going to start a thread about these today....coincidence! So hope you don't mind if I hijack this one a bit.

My wife's been left with a debt of about £800 from out joint Barclays account after BR. They've (RMA) written several times before asking her to phone or email and she's emailed with a mobile number for them to contact (which they haven't).

She won't talk to them and frankly I wouldn't want her to anyway as she has mental health issues so the plan was to ask them if they'd deal with me.

    The latest letter states...

"Unless suitable payment terms are agreed immediately, we must return your debt to Barclays Bank plc.

We will recommend that they begin proceedings against you.

We may then need to take steps to gather information as to your financial situation."

What I thought I might do is to send them a token cheque with a covering letter offering payment terms (I'm thinking £25 a month) and asking them to deal with "me" (wife obviously) by post only.

Alternatively, what are the likely consequences of letting the debt go back to Barclays?

    Any info/advice much appreciated.

(And I have the same address as Dojoman)
Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."
  • Interesting.

I also think that some of my creditors may now be beginning to realise that I might be going down the BR route, as most of my (7) debts have now been re-assigned to different debt collection companies within the last few weeks. Even though some of the debt chasers had written to me stating that this was my last chance before court proceedings etc...

And some of the debt collection companies, like ARC, sent out pre-court letters, then gave up and returned the debt back to the finance company.......where it will just start all over again.

Debt companies seem to be buying and selling debts without being bothered to take people to court at the moment. Probably due to the cost implications. That has certainly been my case.

If you are going BR on the 17th I would not waste my time in replying to these clowns. Once you are BR they cannot do anything and if they keep on trying just refer them to your OR.

Do not bother informing them of impending BR ....it will only agitate them all into extreme behaviour........no need to be 'helpful' to creditors...especially at this sage..they care not about you..not one iota.

Once BR, leave OR to sort out who owns what debt......
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

These sent me a letter with no contact details, I googled them found the number, rung them and told them they were breaking the law and it was so surprising how quick the phone went down
