Has anybody seen the compact wind / storm proof umbrella's in a retail store chain??
I have to walk through a park and my Brolly takes a battering!
Have seem em on Qvc in the past but didn't fancy waiting in or paying postage.
Thanks in advance. Budget ideally £20

Forgan 62" Double Canopy Umbrella - Forgan.co.uk £11.99 + £4.99 p&p
Not sure if this may be a bit too big for walks through the park and windy days though.
More appropriate for golfers perhaps.- Double canopy design to prevent inverting in high winds
- 62 inch frame with a 4ft diameter for great coverage
- Rubberised handle for improved comfort and grip
- Waterproof design
- Great quality

Must be compact size to fit in laptop bag/holdall or shopping trolley.
Anyone seen any in department stores/homeware stores national chain??0 -
I think Sports Direct sells something similar to the one mentioned above. I wouldn’t recommend theirs though but might worth checking so you know what to expect.

That's odd, I couldn't see this earlier:

I would recommend a Bird-Cage style. Those are the ones which have a large dome and are transparent. They wont blow inside out but in some cases can blow to the point where the metal structure bends too far and snaps into the plastic and makes tears so you have to sort of know how to steer it- aiming it into the direction of the wind. Not always easy to walk with but then its not easy to walk with a normal umbrella for similar 'Mary Poppins' type reasons too!0

If you look on the Fulton website and look at the individual features of each umbrella, you will be able to see which ones are considered wind resistant.
Other than that, I know Ideal World, the tv shopping channel sells them. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I had a wind resistant brolly from 'London Fog' for many years - at the end of its life it was only a little bent from all the battering it took around here!
However nothing could stop it being wrenched from my hand last week......it was last seen heading for New York.

I got a bright red compact one from the Betterware catalogue, can't remember the price but must have been cheap or I wouldn't have bought it!!!!
It does work in the wind too. There is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
Don't forget, some of the umbrellas mentioned above (Bird-Cage type, Fulton (not sure about London Fog & Betterware though)) can be found using the MegaShopBot.
And not forgetting the Cashback-Sites Maximiser as well.0
