Update on me

Well I'm a whole month in and the following has happened;

I have paid off a credit card (it was only a small one but still) - as soon as I get a moment I'll pop to the bank to cancel it.
I have started doing shoping at places like Lidl and Aldi, and trying not to pop to the supermarket if I forgot something but just to make do
I have stopped putting petrol on my credit card with the belief that my expenses will pay it and then never pay it off (and buy shoes instead)
I have applied to M&S for a morecard to put all my balances onto one card (I'm useless at remembering when they are all due) and cut repayments.
Despite not getting overtime from work, hopefully bagged a special project that I couldnt do in normal working hours to pay enough money to kill one, possibly both overdrafts
Cut DFD to 18months
Looking for more jobs with more money for when this contract ends

    Well done for all the progress so far! :T

    I hope the M&S card application goes through ok... one thing though... if the minimum repayments are lower (:T) do try to keep making the same payments you have been... to properly take advantage of the lower interest (presume thats why repayments would be lower). Perhaps you are making the biggest payments you possibly can anyway... in which case this is useless advice :o

    Don't worry I will - everything I can afford goes to pay off the CC - the interest rate is one factor, the other is working out what best I need to pay off the three I have to meet minimums/snowball correctly, this way there's no thinking involved!

    My son has just opened a M&S morecard account to transfer his balance. Unfortunately the limit he was given was only £1500 so he was unable to transfer the whole amount. Nevertheless, he will make the biggest payment to the most expensive CC and the minimum amount to M&S.

    Good luck!

    I've heard they dont seem to give good limits - I need about 10k. The last 0% card I'm applied for gave me 7k about 9months ago now, and I have a good income and havent missed a payment for anything in two years now I think, but I havent even got approval yet so who knows.

    If not I'll phone and beg, or switch it over between two cards

    Yeah, my son phoned them and asked if he could transfer £3200 but wouldn't let him. I know very little about CC as I don't like them, but do you think M&S will let you have 2 cards so he can transfer the rest of the balance to the second card? If not I think he will prob call them again in a couple of months or so and ask again.

    No I meant put the rest on a diff 0% card. They wont give him two. Or as you say, wait 6months and try again
