Final bill will not have full disc will be pro rated for period of daysafter most recent quarterly bill
That's not what they did to me. No discount on an 'extended' final bill at all. They extended it by about a month, iirc because I queried the bill they sent and told them I had just applied to change supplier. They said they would cancel the bill and combine it all into the final bill following the switch.
When the final bill had no discount, I complained. Response came back referring me to their terms and conditions that stated no discount on final bills."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

The Ombudsman is always happy to look into unresolved complaints:

Just to update anyone interested in the issue raised in this thread.
E-On have confirmed to me in an email that, as I am moving from one plan with a cancellation fee to another which also has a cancellation fee, then the £30 fee is not chargeable despite leaving the first plan before the contract is up.
Makes sense; if you moved from a plan with a fee to one without you could then cancel straight away and avoid the fee. So I can see that in those circumstances E-On would want to charge a fee on change of plan.
I have now switched to E-on SaveOnline v4 via the online switch facility.0 -

Came off an Eon 'fixed' plan about four months ago and dropped onto their "EnergyOnline" plan.
I have now decided to switch to another supplier.
Will I be hit with a cancellation fee, even though the plan I signed up to came to an end?
has the plan that THEY put me on got a cancellation fee attached?0 -
No cannot charge a canx fee as that product has ended and energy online has no termination fee0

It seems to be eons party trick of removing discounts on the last bill. A bit shady to be fair. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0

My FixOnline Dual Fuel plan is coming to an end on 1st December.
If I jump ship then I get hit with a dual fuel cancellation fee of £30 and I have just found out that I lose my FixOnline total discount of 21.4% on my final bill. As its a autumn/winter bill, this is quite a factor in moving to another supplier.
Do other suppliers do this?
eribaman
Hi eribaman,
As you will have completed the contract for Fixonline 3, you will not receive any cancellation fees, but will receive all the discount applicable to the tariff.
However, you will not receive any discount on energy used between 2 December 2010 and the date the switch completes. So it is best to keep this time as short as possible.

I work for Eon, it wont be applied, only applied if supply leaves and goes to a competitor
Hi guys,
Just for the benefit of people reading this thread, I just want to be clear on this point.
As Colin_London has said, it says in the T&C's that the cancellation fee may be applied, if you change supplier/tariff before the tariff end date.
This means that E.ON may charge this, so please just be aware of this.
