Egg Balance Transfer Fee

I am in the process of card tarting and was just about to transfer a considerable sum to egg at 3.9%. I realised that there would be a transfer fee of 2.5%. However I remembered that most companies have a limit to how much they will charge you (usually about £75), but egg don't - I checked. A £300 transfer fee doesn't make 3.9% for 6 months look that attractive afterall does it?!
Egg certainly arn't the white knight of credit cards anymore.

Hi
Ooh that's a harsh one. Any chance you can get the M&S &More card. I've just BT (Free) and the lob rate is 3.9%. Worth a try, unless you already have one, in which case ignore me.

Hi
I think it took about a week from email confirmation to getting agreement, then another week to get card. tbh I've had it a couple of weeks, but have been musing on what to do on the bt front. They offered £4K but I wanted £10K, plus min payment is 3% (my other CC are 2%), so needed to play around with snowballs. I phoned today and asked for more, first guy hung up (cheeky sod), so I rang back and after some conversation with "colleagues" he upped amount to 5K and said I can ask for increase when I've been a customer longer. Not what I wanted but the "pre mse" me wouldn't have even asked!

OK, ta - I'm also looking for that amount - doesnt sound like they are too generous though.
The 3% doesnt bother me too much (I heavily overpay on the CC anyway), it's just the ease of the one payment
I also hoped to get it by next week as off to the States with work and they seem to do good interest rates if you get curreny through them on the CC
Ah well never mind!0
