Vacancy and their earnings

Hi everybody,
Wondering if you can help me with something. I work in a team of 4 and my job is really stressful (in fact I've written on here before). Anyway they have decided to recruit another person on my level but doing project work whereas I am communications and doing project work too.
Now I was asked to put the vacancy on to our website this morning and saw that they are looking to recruit for £25k whereas I only earn £23k. I find this a bit annoying as I have been here for 7 months, work mad hours, really chip in and now they are recruiting somebody on the same level, with same reporting structure who will be new and on £2k more than me (minimum as it says circa!).
The only justification in it is that they are compensating by freeing up my time but I was only ever doing EXTRA anyway, so me and this person will still have the same workloads.
Should I ask about it? I don't want to seem like a money grabber but it has rubbed me up the wrong way completely considering I have been working 60-70hr weeks for them.

It usually says Circa £xk.
What did it say on your ad?
They usually offer it at a lower amount depending on the skills that you will bring. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Hi there, it said £23k circa on mine not £25k circa and I got it for £23k.0 -
I'd apply for it! Even tongue in cheek ....0

circa doesn't mean minimum, it means about, or around.
That said, once a figure is put in writing, I can't imagine most applicants willing to accept less.
You could write out all the extra things you've done and see your manager about it.0
