I want to switch utility companies and phone etc in order to save money, will a credit check be done for each application, if so is it a bad idea to switch if your credit history is not so good?

The only time I was credit searched for utlities was when I opened an account with Telewest for phone and cable tv. None others to my knowledge but perhaps it would be worth checking on the websites of the utilities that you wish to change to or phoning up and asking. Just a suggestion.
