What you all gonna do when your mf

This is a great thread and its great reading peoples aspirations regarding mf, but what are your plans when you reach the mf target, many of us are in stressful jobs and seem to be working many hours, but what are you going to do? Im going to pack my stressful, full time + more hours job in and take a part time job when I become mf and start enjoying life, but what are your plans?

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Morning Handyman,

We've got a list that we're currently attacking with no great progress. Having become mortgage free last month, we've got a lot of home improvements to make, a few holidays planned (a minimum of 3 per year as soon as possible), a new car in the offing, a big house to build....

I don't think it ever stops. When I next become mortgage free, giving up employed work, taking properly extended breaks (3 months in Bali over the winter is still the ideal every year) and going on the odd spending spree just for the hell of it will be on the list. It's rubbish having to still be sensible just now though!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

Build a small 2 bed eco house, retire early (looking less likely now but I may redirect myself from retiring at 57 to retiring at 62) spend the winters in Malaysia, continue to make things for pleasure.

I have aspirations to be able to lead a simpler life in a more rural location and to do more travelling like other people have said. There's far too much of the world that I haven't seen. I'd like to have a child in the next few years aswell and am not sure how i'm going to mix little 'un with travelling so the latter would probably have to be put on hold. Would like to put more time into a new hobby too, maybe photography or cake decorating - something crafty.

Go on more holidays, work part time, probably end up helping the kids get onto the housing ladder.

MF is a long way off for us yet so will probably change!

Being MF will allow us both to work part time and have more family time. I think that's my ultimate goal. Holidays etc will just be a bonus.

I meant the things i'd like to do in this lifetime are things like taking a few months out to tour the far east, do voluntary work abroad, things like that. I suppose it would be a good life experience for a child to see how different cultures live, could maybe work around it and do things in summer holidays. Have not thought long enough about it yet, still just a dream at the moment :)
