In Poundland today, metal cutlery trays could be used for pens and stuff, or even make up and nail varnishes. I have just bought big glass jars with lids that I am goin to fill with various items, one with sweets, cotton wool etc., and will luk brill with Xmas lights in them.. Large wine glasses in our Asda 4 for 2.50, just add a bottle of wine and sum goodies and what a nice pressie.

Dunelm mill at canterbury had some baskets including some more expensive lined baskets with wheels very pretty, that would make a more special present

Matalan have a set of 3 plastic shopping basket style with metal handles in graduated sizes for £4 in a medium blue colour which would make a change from the wicker ones.

I love reading about all your fab baskets & hampers but I've yet to make one my self (yet!!!)

Anyway I noticed the 99p Store in Barnsley (South Yorkshire) had some lovely baskets last week, just right for hamper making, some where oval laundry type baskets and some were shallow rectangle shaped (bread baskets?) with a cotton checked lining (red/white blue/white green/white) not sure of the size but would probably take about 3 baguettes. They had others too but these two really took my eye.

OH told me about some baskets and storage boxes in Somerfield..........think he said the storage boxes were about £3, not sure about the baskets but he's gone to get me a storage box and have another look at the baskets as well.

Just to add now OH's back

Storage boxes are £3..........black, white or royal blue. Twice the size of a shoe box (haven't measured but thats rough idea). Plastic with handle and label at the front. Self assemblly and quite sturdy when put together.
He forgot to look at the price of baskets...........just said that were quite sturdy wicker with handles each side,,,,,,,,,,sets of three that stack one inside the other. I'll check them out myself tomorrow

The seagrass ones were much nicer. Sorry the pics are a bit yellow. It was the lighting in store and the big yellow sign above the aisle that did that!
