Hinckley and Rugby Building Society

I have just applied for my first mortgage with Hinckley and Rugby Building Society. My IMA advised me to go with these as they are currently offering a good deal and more importantly they only credit reference and not credit score.

I have no bad credit but also no good credit so this seems a decent idea. The APR offered is 5.49% with a 1% discount. It is not fixed but there is no tie in, at all.

Has anybody had any dealings with this Building Society and does anybody have any views on this deal?

Why do you think credit scoring would be a problem?

I looked at a few more high street lenders and they were only prepared to lend me with a high deposit. They stated it was due to a low credit score.

Took my current mortgage out with them in 2007.

As soon as application was made. Was allocated a named contact on a direct dial telephone number. Made the process of moving house so much easier.

All dealing with since have been very efficent and friendly. Something to be said for dealing with smaller organisations.
