    Hi there,

Just wanted to say well done to you Sarah. You've really got things in hand. I'm in a similar situation to where you started and am currently putting my SOA together and have also bunged a million things on ebay and put together my bank charge reclaiming letters. It's a relief to know there's a site out there like MSE that has brought people together to support them through the madness.

Keep an eye out for my SOA as I would appreicate any advice from someone that is so successfully managing their debts!

  • Know this sounds daft but when you got enough to pay off Dotty P thought thank god for that.Been coming on your diary everyday just to see what is happening with it.Felt frustrated when things went wrong for you.Now feel a sense of relief you finally done it.How daft is that lol
All I really got to say is WELL DONE:T
Remember only people who say money doesn't matter have already got enough
  • Out of interest have you worked out how much you've managed to save this month, including the full amount for Dotty P's (awesome - :j), the fridge, freezer etc - I'm just thinking it must add up to something near an amount that will make Citi and Barclays feel a bit faint - they don't stand a chance!!

    Also, how are you today?

Yes, it's been amazing what you have achieved over this last month or so......are you SURE you don't have a secret money tree out in the garden somewhere?

It just goes to show that no money situation is hopeless, there's always a way round things if you are willing to really look for it. If you don't win this debt-dieter thing, I'll be shocked!

TBH I don't know how we've managed it and I think we've just been extremely lucky with timings.. going to try and work out how much we would've had this month has everything not gone balls up!!

As for the debt dieter thing I'd be shocked if I did win it! Don't get me wrong it'd be brilliant if we did win it as that'd be a massive chunk off one of our debts but I'm not getting my hopes up as there are loads of people out there more deserving than me! (In my opinion anyway )

I don't think a lot of people would be willing to go public about their debts/finances though, so I'm not sure there will have been a huge number of entries......and I'm really struggling to think of anyone who would deserve it more than you :D

But whatever happens, I've every confidence in you being debt free (apart from the car) in the next few months anyway!

Right well here's what we would've saved..

    Leftover from March - £73.28
Random interest in debt account - £0.24
    TC - £82.43, £65.62, £64.44, £64.44, £113.95 = £393.45
    cb - £119
    ebay xbox - £100
    extra mat pay - £85.99
    cd player ebay - £25.55
    Weekly budget savings - £30.19
= £827.70 if we hadn't have had to use it at all. Bloody fridge/freezer disaster has cost us nearly £300 altogether! aaaaaaaaargh!
