  • Great idea

I'll start... My moneysaving advice would be for those who can't give up SKY to call them to discuss cancelling and see what offers they give you to stay with them..... I got half price for 3 months and some poeple have got better than that!

    Worth a go
  • Also register with quidco and change your gas/elec/car ins/home ins to cheqper providers and get cash back for doing it. I just changed my car insurance through them and got a quote that was about £50 a year cheaper and I got a £100 cashback for going through quidco.
  • i taken up running at night and have signed up to do reading 1/2 marthon, this not only gets me out the house and freash air for a hour a night, gets me fit, also raises some money for charity, BUT most of all keeps me out the pub (SPENDING MONEY) and it FREE

Another one I would like to add, is we have just changed to doing our shopping online with tesco's. This has reduced our weekly shopping bill and has stopped impulse buys.
If you are going to try this, then remember to have a look on the vouchers board for tesco's vouchers

    * Go fruit picking

    • Use Cheap hair conditioner instead of shaving foam

    • Go to the supermarket at 3pm on a Sunday as they are pricing everything down.

    • Sign up to every supermarket/shop/petrol loyalty card going even if you don’t use it very often it costs you nothing.

    • Save the £1 stamps for xmas so that your xmas shop doesn’t blow your budget.

    • Try and buy in bulk and even split the bill with your friends when things are BOGOF

    • When buying loose Fruit and vegetable check it doesn’t have too much excess weight i.e. stalks, leaves, skin etc. Don’t use a bag this adds as much as 1p every time.

    • Check out fixture ferrets for the latest BOGOFs

    • Pad mince out with peas, sweet corn, lentils, barley and oatmeal.

    • Try the value ranges.

    • Use cheap bath foam to fill your hand soap dispenser.

    • Don’t go shopping hungry

    • Meal plan for the week and stick to a rigid list

    • Go around with a calculator

    • Make your own soups with veg that is on the turn and freeze.

    • Use shredded paper for Hamster bedding

    • When staying in hotels always take all the coffee, sugar, tea toiletries. They are included in your stay.

    • Grow your own herbs on your kitchen windowsill. A bag of seeds is the same price as a packet of fresh herbs – or take cuttings from a friend

    * Always cut Cleaning cloths and Make up remover wipes in half

    * Cut open all tubes when they are finished to get the last bits out.
