Dispute over contracted hours - STRESSED!

  • Well the situation still hasn't improved and is really getting me down. My manager still hasn't contacted the other stores and has basically said I should be working as quickly as my colleague. I tried to politely say that he should contact the regional manager and have everyone's hours changed to 1pm in that case.

He's changed the days I work so that on busy days (where we have coin deliveries or when Securicor come to collect the cash), the other girl working 7-4 is there instead of me as she has more time to do these extra tasks.

I hate the atmosphere right now as I feel like I am being resented and seen as slow. I am very tempted to step down and take an easier option of being on checkouts. I think the only reason I'm still there is that they don't have anyone to replace me.

Explain that the other girl has an extra 3 hours so she can do 3 hours more work.

Ask them how they expect the same amount of work to be done in less time. You are working at the same speed, just with less hours.

Does the other person do the same job as you? She works 3 more hours than you so of course she can do more than you in a day.

If she wants you to finish everything by 1pm, what does she do between 1 and 4? She gets paid more than you so she should be doing more work.
