I am wanting to buy my wife a new hairdrier but have no idea what I should be looking out for.
Can anyone here please give me advice on which brands to stick with etc. My wife has longish 'thick' hair.
I am prepared to pay up to about £50. I want something that will last!
Many Thanks in advance...

We bought my daughter a Philips Tresemme HP4982/07 Salon Control Ion Hair Dryer last Christmas and this year my sons girlfriend has asked for the same model as she is very impressed with it.0

I have very long thick hair. I bought my hair dryer nearly 10 years ago now and it's still going strong! It is a Revlon hair dryer, I'm not sure if you can still buy the exact same model or whether they've released a new one by now but mine is 1600W. I think ideally you'd need at least a 1600W hair dryer for long thick hair else your wife will be spending ages trying to dry her hair!
I've used mine almost every other day and even used it to dry clothes before! (Don't ask!
) So it is really good and long lasting! Definitely worth the money I paid for it which was about £30 at the time I think, it's a long time ago now so I can't really remember but it was somewhere in that region and I bought it from Boots.
Superdrug currently have half price on electricals with hair dryers included plus free delivery until Tuesday 16th November, so it might be worth having a look on there? Don't forget you can get cashback if you go through Quidco too. I hope this helps?
EDIT: I've actually found my hair dryer! It's this one : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Revlon-Quiet-Compact-Chrome-Hairdryer/dp/B0000C6X2J although as it's old now, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a much better one

I'd find out what they use in your local salon. If they're made for commercial use I would think they'd be the longest lasting
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
