Southampton

Zap Cats are amazingly light and powerful inflatable catamarans. For a limited period, Into the Blue is offering a HALF PRICE deal on zap cat experiences in Southampton. This is a short term offer valid only for vouchers bought on this page. To take advantage of this superb offer, your experience must be taken before 30th June 2011.

We're sure you'll love these Zapcats. They're fast enough to be able to pull 3g round corners and with a power to weight ratio of 340bhp per tonne, you have to have your wits about you as you're not just a passenger on this thing. You'll be responsible for balancing the boat for the turns on the sea, just like any catamaran, but at high speed. The expert driver pulls 90 and 180 degree turns at speeds of around 40mph. Not one for the faint-hearted! Seeing as you'll be ripping it up over the high seas, you'll be wearing drysuits, lifejackets and helmets as safety is paramount for this high speed time trial zapcat adventure.
Experience Summary: You'll spend approximately two hours on site, with each participant getting approximately 20 minutes as co-pilot in a zapcat. Instruction is on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. Maximum group size is usually 12.

Availability: Half Price zapcat experiences must be taken by 30June 2011, customers are advised to book early as sessions will fill up fast. Events run on regular Saturdays and some Sundays throughout the year. The zap cats are able to operate in virtually all weather conditions. This promotion is not available for exclusive groups; multiple voucher purchases are possible but cannot be guaranteed for the same session.

Requirements:
Maximum weight is 20 stone with minimum/maximum height 4'10" to 6'4". The minimum age is 16 and all under 18's need parental consent. Non swimmers are accepted, but please inform the instructors on the day. The experience is not suitable for pregnant women or anyone with serious back problems, fractures or heart complaints. All guests will be asked to sign a health & safety declaration and an indemnity form. A zero tolerance policy operates for drink and drugs. Participants are advised to bring a towel, sunscreen, bottled water and sunglasses with a lanyard. Warm, lightweight clothing is recommended. Drysuits, gloves, wetsuit boots and helmets are provided, for this reason participants will need to provide height, weight and shoe size information when booking with the supplier. Due to the high performance of the zapcat passengers are not allowed to drive.
Location: Merlin Quay Marina, Southampton, Hampshire with easy access from M27 or M3. Woolston Train Station is around half a mile from the venue. More Zapcat venues are available.

Spectators and Facilities:
Spectators are welcome to come and watch guests prepare for the event and watch them depart , however viewing of the activity is limited so binoculars

They are only £50, but sold as £99 to make you think your getting a deal! What spoils this event is your the passenger and you just hold on... Great thrill ride, but worth £20.....
I nearly bought 8 spaces until i found out your a 'co-pilot' , ie, a passenger :( Would have been nice to have a go of one of these too!
