Iqor - Ebay - Debt Recovery

Hello everyone,

I owe ebay £33.52 for fee's and I was going to pay them but the date they were due I had to go back home to Ireland due to two members of my family passing away in a car crash so I had to stay over there to help support my family and help deal with funeral arrangements etc.

I am now back home and today I got a letter from Iqor saying that I owe ebay £33.52 and if I don't pay it within 3 days they will take legal action over me for £33.52. At the moment I cant pay it off and its only a small amount but my bank account has been drained in the past week or two and I am struggling myself.

I have contacted EBAY directly about this and I am awaiting there reply.

What should I do about Iqor, they keep phoning me but I am just ignoring them are I wont ever pay a debt collection agency.

They are also saying that this will go on my credit file, no credit has been used :S

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

  • Ignore iqor, log into eBay and the option will be there somewhere to pay them directly online.
Don't speak to or respond to iqor in any way and they will soon go away.

    " Hello eBay Member,

Thanks for contacting us with regard to the fees due on your
    "nottingham1989" account.

I have reviewed your account and I can confirm that we have referred
your details to a debt collection agency because we didn't receive
payment for your eBay fees. You now need to make payment to the
collection agency to get your account reinstated. Please contact the
agency directly if you have any questions about your payment. Your
account has been referred to the following collections agency:

    IQor, tel: 0044 (0)1772 832188

If you have already made a payment to the agency, please be aware that
it may take up to 10 days for this to be shown on your eBay account.
Once your payment has cleared, we will reinstate your account if
non-payment was the only reason for the suspension of your account.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin Best

I agree, pay ebay direct immediately and then argue about the debt collectors being called in. Iqor are not noted for their pleasant tactics and it is best to have the original debt cleared so have a very good basis of argument about ignoring anything else.

Usually ebay themselves hassle you for a few months, can you please confirm how long it has been since the fees became payable as this comes up over and over again on the ebay board and I like to know if time frames are changing.

  • Three Weeks, two I was away for and had no clue, and the third dealing with ebay and the agency.
  • I had similar problem with IQOR but i was unable to use paypal or ebay untill i resolved it with them, so i just paid the £50.10p and it was all resolved. they fob your debt onto these agencies and you have no choice but deal with them.. unless you dont care about ebay or paypal then you can just ignore them lol

No you can't just ignore them, these are proper debt collectors so they will take you to court, we had a thread about in on the ebay board in the last month.

I am not the best person to advise on this board as debts and courts etc are out of my area of knowledge. However based on threads on the ebay board (see my sig) in the past few months it won't be £33 you will be going to court for it will be a lot more.

Once you ignore a debt with ebay and it gets passed across Iqor start adding their own costs and charges, and they rack up into the hundreds quite quckly. So much for a letter, so much for a phone call and  that much for a home visit if it comes to that. Debts of less than £40 often turn into £200-£300 in a few weeks and yes they will take you to court for it.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that you attempt to stop this now by paying off just the original debt. Paying £33 now could save a three figure sum in a few months time.
