Aa Loan

Hi all,
OH has decided to plump for an AA loan from the choice offered up by doing the Smartsearch comparison site. Does anyone know if AA loans are provided under this name by a proper bank? On their website it only says the loans are provided by Automobile Association Personal Finance Ltd.
Also anyone who has recently applied for this loan, any feedback about the experience (how quickly/easy the loan was to arrange), would be greatly appreciated.
It does seem from reading this forum though, that no matter how much thought and research you do before applying for a loan, or how kosher you credit report is, it sometimes comes down to pot luck!....

My OH has recently got an AA loan for a new car and it was very smooth and easy!! (too easy maybe ;) )
I'm not sure if it's from another bank, but it was quick and the money was paid straight into our bank account. This is our second loan with them and we did get a better rate doing it online rather than on the phone. I would use them again.
  • We had a 10K loan with them last year at 5.9% - got money within 24 hours! no probs to date.

Money provided by Bank of Scotland. part of HBOS
  • OH. Reason I asked was we were just checking the table of providers and which CRA they use, and although both his reports from Equifax and Experian are v. good (payments all on time and high score), we felt his Equifax one was slightly better in that all info is bang up to date with electoral roll info etc. But I guess this was just a psychological advantage, as I say from reading other peeps' experiences on this forum, good reports don't guarantee a loan acceptance.
But according to the table, AA only use Equifax, but if, as you say this is provided by Bank of Scotland (HBOS) and they use Experian, am I to assume they will ultimatley check both? Hmmm, oh well, whichever loan we go for will be pot luck I guess.
    Many thanks!
