Pre-ordered Black Ops

Hey Guys,

I pre-ordered call of duty black ops agesssss ago on tesco ent.

As im sure most of you are aware it was released at 00:00 Tues, we have onky just received it through the letter box.

Do you think this is acceptable?? When ive pre-ordered things before they usually turn up that day or sometimes even day before, i could have just gone got in the shops at this rate, what was the point in pre-ordering

thanks Danielle

  • I would have thought if you preorder it it would mean it gets sent the day of release but sometimes you can get things sent day before so it may come the day of release

To be honest I dont think you have a valid complaint given you got it the following day

This happened to us with Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the summer. My kids had been literally counting the days till its release from about 2 months beforehand, and were driving me mad the days leading up to it. I'd preordered it from Amazon but what I didn't realise was that they now send things out on the day of release, not in time for it, unless you have Amazon Prime or have paid for delivery :( Cos I'd chosen supersaver delivery, it didn't show up till the Tuesday (having been released on the Friday) by which time my kids had gone and bought it from Tesco anyway!!
I'm sure this never used to be the case, I remember preordering Harry Potter books and they arrived on the morning of release. Perhaps it's just a case of costcutting.
  • We ended up buying one in the shop yesterday as our Tesco ones hadn't turned up (they arrived today and can have them back!). It completely defeats the point of pre-ordering them. There are a lot of people complaining about his on various boards.
  • Our Black Ops arrived today as well. Other Tesco Entertainment orders have arrived on day of release, but all these games have come out near the end of the week.

Just wondering if it was because of the Tuesday release meaning Tesco's were slow on sending the games out?

Oh no thats terrible, poor things, they do get excited and we pre-ordered for a reason!.... mine was only for my partner, hes just an over grown kid!!!

I emailed Tesco any way to complain and all i got was a sorry and i should count myself lucky basically as they still had customers waiting for theirs due to "a problem with royal mail" talk about pass the buck!!

  • The developers specifically intstructed retailers not to allow customers their copies until the release date of 9/11.

I pre-ordered and received mine on the 9th.

Any later than the 9th is down to either poor service from the retailer or the possibility of a two day delivery with 1st class post. I'd hazard a guess at the former as i'm aware of several Tesco customers waiting for their orders.
