I've noticed the bears have given up in the last week. The rise in prices last month was the final nail in the coffin for a house price crash.

I'd like to ask them. Are you going to hold out for a crash or just buy now?
I've noticed that some buyers have given up on buying altogether. The October spending review - impending redundancies - was the final nail in the coffin.

Not very at all. House prices will not fall by 90%.

In response to the OP I realised when people started talking about 'HPC mkII' and 'next leg down'. I mean, why? What's the reason this time other than wishful thinking?

Now the situation is improving again with a 1.8% rise I fully expect we'll see comments about HPC mkIII fairly soon.

    Total fantasy land stuff.
WHO SAID 90% FALLS? Im expecting roughly 25% falls taking the average prices down to ~125k. Thats roughly 38% off peak.

If you actually read some peoples posts (on other threads), there are numerous very good reasons for "HPC mkII" as you call it. As you obviously havent read them then you are either trolling or just getting desperate (close to negative equity are we?).

I returned from a months holiday to be greeted with ' House prices may crash' headlines in the newspapers. To be honest everything was in place for that to happen.

Where do you actually live; the UK or Thailand?

How many times do we have to list reasons?

The UK is still on life support, and it looks far more likely that we will get more life support, rather than weaning off it.

My, you are angry (bitter about missing the boat back in March 2009 are we?). Your little picture shows falls of about 90% from peak. Not very accurate. We've been over this so many times that Graham even knows how the song goes.

    I do.

    It's not a graph.

Therefore, interpretation can't be taken as you are taking it. It doesn't work on percentages, neither does it imply whether its inflation adjusted or not. Therefore, 90% falls is difficult to take from it, UNLESS, you are using it as a graph...which is a massive bull no no, so much so, even ghouls may dis-own you.

As far as I am aware it is not about houses either, could be about Tulips thoughicon7.gif

The village idiot with another cr.ap post. Why dont you grow up a bit?

Thank you for your valuable input.

I'm trying to think of the last interesting thread you started. That's what members of message boards do you know.

We put our views up and discuss them like adults. I think you would be happier on a teenage message board discussing the X Factor.

God, there are some mad people in the world. I was reading on HPC.co.uk, some people have waited up to 10 years for a crash before buying... do they not realise that instead of wasting something trivial like money, (which they can make more of) they are wasting something vastly more important and scarce... time. I think they have this idea in their head that there is a reset button, why waste the best years of your life over what is essentially a very material gain. Fair enough be smart if you have the opportunity to prosper from it, but not at the cost of waiting and wishing for 10 years or more.
