Heavily discounted loft insulation at B&Q

Recently there was an item in Martin's email about cheap loft insulation at B&Q. I believe it was subsidised by British Gas so that the price was £3 per large (3-part) roll. By the time I had got there it had all gone.

I believe that the energy suppliers all do this in order to meet their CERT requirements but when I call B&Q, Homebase et al, they all say they don't know when the next shipment is coming in. "It just turns up one day on a lorry and that's the first we know about it" is their response.

I need to buy some more insulation and don't really want to pay the going rate of £12-£13 per large roll. Does anyone know how to find out when the next shipment is coming?

check out npower, they are doing a deal with Buildcenter for £3 per roll and even deliver it for free. Saves several trips to B&Q.

It used to be £1 per roll, but they have increased this. However still a good deal

Thanks for the nod - just ordered 10 rolls (170mm) -£29.93 delivered.

This will go diagonally across the existing 100mm to eliminate cold spots from possible gaps.

I know Wickes where doing buy one get 3 free last week. Check their website and also use quidco for ya cashback

We got the £3 a roll stuff from B & Q this weekend.

we got the wicks stuff and its buy one get 3 free. Its 150mm space balnket and comes in protective film so quite dust free. Not sure about the B&Q stuff, but they did have the same stuff as Wicks at £11.99.
