Today is the DAY

Well today is the day, Im at court at 11.30 i have been told that i go and submit my papers and hand over the £600.00 (thanks to my parents),apparently this takes about half an hour i then have to ring the court tommorow for an answer. My question is how long will it be before the OR gets in touch i assume i cant use any bank accounts till the OR confirms he has no interest, not that anything is in them. But i opened a Barclays basic account and will be using this after my bankruptcy for my salary to be paid into my salary is usually sent to the bank on the 20th of each month do you think i will of heard by then. Also if the OR confirms he has no interest in the Account do i contact Barclays to confirm with them. I just feel in a bit of a pickle not knowing what to do. I could ask my empoyers to pay into somebody else account but would obviously rather leave this as a last resort.

  • Hello, we're very much at the start of this so i'm not able to offer you advice. it is a very worrying time,v stressful. you're lucky to have such loving parents, mine have told us they are for us,but they are both retired.

just wanted to send you a hug, others who know more will reply i'm sure.
    thinking of you x
  • Hi Jess0612.

When I went BR they confirmed it on the same day. The OR rang me the day after. They just wanted basic information like name, address etc. They asked me if I had opened another bank account and then gave me permission to do so. I think so long as you tell the OR there and then it should be ok. If you quoted it on the SOA it would just be worth telling them that. So long as it's a basic account it should be fine. I'm with co-op and I rang them and they didn't seem bothered!

Good luck with it and let us know how you get on! :T
  • My Barclays basic account was up and running and being used for my wages going into, direct debits/standing orders and cash etc about 4 months before we went BR. My OR called me the morning after we had been to court, and then confirmed at our proper OR interview later that he had no interest in the account. I informed Barclays the day after I'd been to court that I was BR, they made a note and said it was fine. My OR also offered to fax them any confirmation they might need, but this wasn't required by Barclays.

Hope its gone to plan today.
  • It seems that only Brighton is an exception to this! Very strange.

I really do not know how i would have coped sometimes without this forum the help and advice has been tremendous. Just got the OR interview to go. The lady at the court was so helpful and really put me at ease. Was quite poorly yesterday morning with nerves. Thanks to everyone.
  • Hi jess0612.

I went br last month and I just felt numb for a couple of days and I know others have felt the same. On a practical level nothing has really changed for me other than that I have money in my shiny new basic bank account:j

I had my OR interview last week and it was nowhere as bad as I expected.

Good luck with it and I'm sure things will star to look up for you. :rotfl:
