Hi,
The best one I ever found was on the Smile.co.uk website. Since I last looked it has dissappeared.
What is the best 'out there' at the moment. Extensive google searching hasn't turned up anything close to the flexibility and graphical capability of the one that used to be on smile.co.uk.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Matt

Hi anirow - Thanks for the response.
I'm afraid the calculators on here are not sophiticated enough for what I want and you used to be able to do at Smile.co.uk
I continued searching last night and found something closer to what I am after:
h t t p : / / w w w . n e w z e a l a n d m o r t g a g e s . c o . u k / n z - m o r t g a g e - c a l c u l a t o r s - u k / l o a n - c a l c u l a t o r /
The spreadsheet offered by Locoblades here:
h t t p : / / f o r u m s . m o n e y s a v i n g e x p e r t . c o m / s h o w t h r e a d . p h p ? t = 1 1 5 7 1 7 3
is very very good but assumes you are making the same overpayment for the entire length of the mortgage. This is not the case for me.
I'd also like to test different interest rates over time as I suspect things won't stay as low as they are right now.0 -
Hi Chris,
Your excel sheet does the trick for me. My only critcism is the manual nature of the overpayment section.
Were the overpayments flexible like the interest rate options are then I'd be in awe, version 3.2 maybe?
I appreciate overpayment is probably very low on many peoples agendas so developing this area wouldn't have been a priority in the past.
Thanks for popping in and taking the time to point me in the direction of your website.
EVERYONE - This is the best excel mortgage calculator I have found...........and boy have I searched!0 -
Oh and maybe "Term Saved" under "Interest Saved". So you can see at a glance rather than having to subtract two dates.
Thanks again0 -
Hi Chris,
I just wanted to say thank you for the spreadsheet. I just downloaded it and input my data and I'm very pleased with it. I have been using another excel calculator from this excellent MSE forum but wanted something with more graphic analysis included and this does the job for me. Thank you again.
All the best,

You can find my Mortgage Analyser on my website (check out my profile).
For info, I made the mistake of using my website URL as my username when I first signed up (skipped the forum rules, oops!). Hence my previous posts in this thread were deleted, leaving eveyone wondering who 'Chris' was.
Thanks all for the nice comments about my Mortgage Analyser by the way!
Happy saving!

I use locoblades spreadsheet and i think it is excellent, you can adjust the individual monthly overpayments.
All you need to do is;
Go to the monthly table sheet,
In the monthly overpayment column next to the relevent month, Click on the box,
At the end of the formula type + then the overpayment amount.
You can play about as you like.MortgageMay 2014 - £255,000.00Jan 2015 - £251.589.00O/P To Date £194.040
