i dont know if it will be the same in all areas but this happened to me tonight 
i went to sainsburys, enquired to see if they had any left, they did but just not on the xbox. so i asked the manager if i saved my receipt, i could come back up until the 14th and get one.
he came back, said he wasnt sure but the manager has authorised a £10 gift card for me so either way i would get it for the £28
i dont have to actually spend it on that but apparently they didnt order enough for the 360... so yes, £10 gift card... bonus
