Quick loan question
Having been declined by egg for a top-up but offered an alternative arrangement, I'm going to approach my bank.
This will actually leave me £100 better off than the Egg offer will. What is my bank (Natwest) likely to do. Comletely clean credit history - other then Egg declining what i originally wanted...
Thoughts welcome.

Thoughts?........take the best offer

What's the APR for Egg verses Natwest?
I personally like Egg loans as they are quite flexible, but it's a personal choice and I have no eperience of Natwest, so they may be just as good.
I can't see the Egg thing getting in your way really as they haven't declined the loan. You can also ask for a quote from Natwest without a full search?
Did they just decline the "top up" as that's not the way they handle their loans? Or were they declining on the basis of the extra amount that you wish to borrow?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Primarily on the amount was my impression.
Natwest rate is actually slightly better. Also, I've had an account with them for nearly 20 years. Had a loan with them several years ago, which I paid early and never missed a payment on.0 -
Further Mrcow... i haven't actually applied with Natwest yet. I was just after the opinions of people who might have been in a similar position and how they'd got on. Remember, Egg declined me what I wanted, and offered me an alternative...
It's to pay off loan, cc and clear overdraft, and will be far better off..0 -
You may be better making an appointment to go into your branch and apply directly. They love all that as they'll also be trying to sell you other products that you don't need
Just an idea and then also you're dealing with an account manager rather than a faceless soul on the end of a phone."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Thanks for your comments Mrcow... anyone else who's been in this position, works in the industry, or has any other thoughts, all are welcome.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Really appreciate any other perspectives on this.0

Ok, took bull by horns and called them.
Approved in principal over the phone - woohoo!!!
Question. Forms are on their way. What could stop this now? Credit file is clean other the my Egg "decline" of last week.
Any thoughts?0
