Best soap?

Could anyone recommend a cheap decent soap that doesn't go all mushy and fall apart leaving a mess all over the soap dish? I've tried "dove", not enough lather," sainsbury's own brand," too mushy, plus several others I can't remember the names of. Any recommendations for a cheap, non-mushy, nice smelling soap?

how about shield soap, i like the fragrance it reminds me of being a kid in the 70's
    its 94p for 4 bar's at asda
  • I use these - good quality and reasonbly priced.

Also make sure you have a draining soap dish as the water at the bottom makes it mushy :D

defo need a soap dish with a hole in the bottom - shouldn't go mushy then...

I like lush soaps - not cheap but soooo moistuising
  • My husband always uses moisturising soaps (as he has a dry skin condition), and we've tried a few! He did like the now discontinued moisturising Pears soap - well a cleansing bar really, it was lovely, smelt nice and didn't go mushy - couldn't believe they discontinued it! Then he tried Imperial Leather - too drying, Dove - too mushy no matter how hard he tried to keep it dry between uses. Now we're onto a winner, it is L'Occitane Shea Butter soap - they do liquid versions as well. His favourite is the Milk one, but you can get other ones which I use! Verbena, Lavender and Almond. Unfortunately it is a bit on the expensive side, but I honestly believe you get what you pay for in this instance, as it ticks all the boxes! It is so moisturising and lovely to use.

It lasts for ages, and as it is triple milled, it doesn't get mushy or anything. Wouldn't go back to 'ordinary' soap now :) You can get them from QVC, and sometimes there are some good deals on there, or if I can't be bothered with that I get it from Debenhams. Think House of Fraser sells them as well.

    Hope this helps.
  • simple bar soap is nice, often about a quid for a pack of 2...doesn't go mushy which i think only happens with more moisturising ones!

Thanks for the replies, I'll have to make a list to go shopping and give them all a go.
