Enhanced CRB HELP NEEDED!!!!!

Hi

My girlfriend has a caution from an assault charge over 3 years ago.. could someone help me in letting me know how long this will stay on her CRB..

She works as a dance teacher and she is worried this will effect her working with kids in the future.

She has been told mixed answers, that it will come off CRB after 3 years, but heard also it stays on for 5 years and also heard it stays on for lifetime..

could someone please help...

Kind regards

Leo

On an enhanced CRB it will show up forever. There is no 'drop-off' period like a regular CRB, and all 'spent' convictions and cautions will come up. She will always need an enhanced CRB for a teaching post or any role working with children. At my school, we would certainly not employ anyone with a caution for assault.

Even for the basic CRB, a caution stays on the record forever.

I think that has changed. Originally it was outwith RoHA, but now it is instantly spent, I believe.

They do show up forever as nothing is 'spent' on an enhanced check.
Employers however, do not reject applicants based on CRB checks as a blanket rule. They are used for information purposes and if your partner applies for a job, she should be honest on the application form and offer an opportunity to discuss the offence. Factors such as age, offence details etc are taken into account when an enhanced CRB check is carried out.

    Hope this helps.

I suggest she gets advice from NACRO on how to disclose this.
Signature removed for peace of mind
