Hardship and Housing Benefit?

I've been told by my Jobcentre they will no longer pay me Income Based JSA, so I need to apply for Hardship Allowance JSA.

Will this affect my Housing Benefit? or just the money I live on.

The Jobcentre Staff never even had the courtesy to explain it.

Hardship Allowance will still allow you to claim HB but will give you less to live on if you're awarded it.

To be fair staff in the Jobcentre are not employed or trained to advise you on any effect this might or might not have on your Housing Benefit, although they should have advised you to contact the the relevant authority.

You need to talk to the pensions and social security or whatever its called, as they deal with benefits.

There is a confidential number you can call if you want advice and not go into specifics but i dont know the number sorry. Maybe someone on here knows it.

Job Centres just like you to sign on the line to say you are seeking work and then direct you to a board of jobs! Or at least they used to when i used to attend them?
