  • Well after going through 3 vacuums (inc Dyson) in 12 months I can completely recommend this one from Argos:

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4053194.htm

    1800 watts.
    Washable HEPA filtration.
    2 litre capacity.
    7 height adjustments.
    Includes turbo brush.
    Foldable handle.
    7m power cord.
    Weight 8.3kg.
It has a really powerful suction and is built like a brick **** house. Also has a handy turbo brush which is great for getting pet hair off fabric. For £60 it's a bargain.

Got my daughter THIS MIELE recently and she says it's very good.

I've had a Miele before and would recommend it ,but I have a HENRY now and they're great too.

Okay so I bought the argos one in the 2nd post.

    Great!

    or so I thought!

The flexi hose is too short and every time I use it the hoover falls over.

The last time i tried to use it it fell again and now 2 screws have snapped off holding the top handle part to the bottom!!!

So now its totally broken and i have used it once...do you think argos will take it back...im pretty frustrated!

Would have thought they would take it back. They are normally pretty good.

What was the suction on it like though?

    My dyson is about dead!!

  • I would recommend a Henry hoover. My family has had one for around 8 years and never a problem. The suction is good and it reaches a long way, almost all the way up the stairs with the hoover still at the bottom. And the cable is long too. It isn't too heavy either. We have had others but Henry is by far the best!
  • Awww sorry to hear that you had problems..I was just passing on my experience of mine..I didn't know you needed a long hose.

Anyway, why don't you return it to Argos stating it's faulty (although I know technically it's not)...they will take it back, especially as you've only had a day.

Its great for suction!! I loved it...i dont need a long hose just a normal one that does the stairs. theres no way to blanace the thing on the stairs so you have to put it at the top and strech down with it.

Its such a shame, someone else has said its unstable when using the hose...did you find that BB? Hopefully argos will take it back!

Thanks for your suggestion BB It really did work a treat right up till the catastrophe!
