I'm utterly flabbergasted that these people on low income or benefits can get accepted for store cards/loans/credit cards.

Surly you would have to lie on the application form ?!!!!

It shouldnt be made legal, same as Bright House or Crazy Georges !!!

I was speaking recently to a single mom on benefits. She was at the bank recently and was invited for a chat with the bank manager. She was worried until they said they were inviting her to apply for a credit card. She said 'but I'm on benefits!', they said 'we know how much people get in benefits, it's fine'! So she got a credit card with a £2k limit.

I can't even get a new credit card!

Do you pay mortage/rent? This is not factored in.

Welcome to the board and well done on the progress you have made already - a great start

not sure how much help this can be.

    i read u had 1 child.

when we had real money trouble a few years ago, we had 1 daugther at the time who was about 14 months , and all i had avalible for food was 100 pounds a month.and this included nappies. i really didn't think i could do it. and it really upset me , as i love food shopping. but with careful planning and sitting down and writing a proper shopping list i was able to easliy keep to this budget for a few months until this improved.
it was hard , but also in another was it was great fun. a challenge and i love them.

best thing was i had a bread maker and i saved so much money and i could also make so much , and much cheaper , ie pizza bases , garlic bread , bread rolls , loaves etc these were execellent for bulking up a meal and therefore making a main meal go a bit further.

take a look on money saving old style it really is helpful
