cash in early

Hi anybody,

we have a 25 year endowment that has performed poorly.

The last statement advised a "current" cash in value of about 21k, or we "may expect" to get £22.5k on maturity which is 3 years away, (it will cost another £1.5k to maintain it).

Should I cash in early, or wait until completion?

Any advsied gratefully received

Stu

I have a policy similar to this, 20.5k cash now but in 3 years I expect 25k or so. They reckon the policy will grow at 6%.

I may cash mine in now but am making sure what it goes into outperforms the 6% they reckon I'll get if I didn't (6% net that is).

It is of course a promise & may not perform at all like this.

Dont forget you get life insurance while you are paying this insurance. Lots of people forget that and the fact
that they have had life insurance since it started.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

You havent told us anything about it. We need more to go on. An endowment is not a uniform product where they are all the same.
we have a 25 year endowment that has performed poorly.

Is it performing badly due to a too high target growth rate, low quality investments, unlucky timing or what?
