im in leicester and the best places ive found are...
For selection boxes to start you off - a wholesalers called falcon.
Then for other stuff you need to shop around.
Barrages i got from Paper Tiger in leicester town centre - they have a half price sale on all fireworks at the moment. Mostly bright star so good quality.
I was looking at Tesco and Wilkinson - all seem to be overpriced and not great for effects.
Morrisons ive heard is the same.
Asda is ok - but dont go for the big multi shot things eg 500 shots for £80. Rip off with a capital R. shop around. Paper Tiger, leicester have a 595 shot - similar effects - half price - you pay £15. so SHOP AROUND
(note ASDA mini kegs priced at £3 for two are a bargain. and pack a great effect for the size and price. well worth the £3)
Finally i have brought the 3 barrages in LIDL. Firefighter, Ipanema and 25 carat.
p.s. - for all the old school air bomb enthusiasts - bright star have apparantly somehow sneaked an air bomb through british standards testing. now it isnt the quite the earth shattering thunder of old, but it is one the loudest fireworks guranteed to be louder than any of your neaighbours. :j
they are made by Bright Star and are called Atom Bombs. They are twin tubes in one firework. so each has a twin shot. i found them at £8.95 in a shop on Melton Road in Leicester. JTF also sell them although they are rebadges under a different brand and called Widow Makers but are the same and priced at £3.95 + VAT.
Final word - if you have kids - buy a pumpkin fountain - £5 at ASDA. great item.
sorry for the essay :rotfl:
