    You need legal advice.

Go to http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor.law and search for a solicitor in your area who deals with 'Debt and money advice'. You may qualify for free advice, or they may offer the initial interview for free.

    Ok,

You can't sell or dispose of any goods that have been levied already - dodgy ground.

A hceo can only charge 5% of the value of goods recovered if the value is no more than £100. Over £100 it's 2.5%. I'd be asking them for a FULL breakdown of thier charges pronto. If they refuse or send a load of tosh, send them a SAR - they are trying it on big time with charges if you say the charges nearly equal the debt!! They are probably adding make believe admin charges and all sorts of old cobblers.

You CAN deal with the creditor direct. I would use this approach ( bearing in mind those who you owe the money to want it back) - say you are prepared to pay them a monthly sum direct to clear the debt, but you are NOT prepared to deal with the hceo. This often works.

Let us know how it goes........;)
