Sat Nav \ PDA (with speed camera detection if not too expensive)

Looking to buy a PDA with a facility for sat nav. If radar detection \ speed camera detection is not too much more than that would be nice to have.
As well as using for Sat Nav PDA would be used for internet, email and other random apps as I discovered them but this is not essential.
Any reccomendations - would a retailer or eBay be my best bet.
Would like PDA to speak the directions too if possible, but cost is important too

If you get hold of a PocketPC/PDA that runs Tom Tom Navigator then you can install a free utility called CheckPOInt. This will allow you to download the free speed camera database and incorporate it with Tom Tom. As you are driving and Tom Tom is giving instructions, it will also say things like "Speed camera in 30 seconds...".
The POI (Points Of Interest) speed camera database is also free and regularly updated.
See http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtompoi.php
for a load more info on it, plus deals etc.*************************

Well need a PDA now. Full of bravado after a few drinks I plunged into eBay and bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5751432812
Well all them bright flashing pictures have got me hankering after a PDA. Must have Sat Nav.
Thankyou very much to the poster who gave me that link for free speedcam database - I wanna use this.
Need it quick - delivered this week ready for next weeks break.
Appologies for the overall madness of this post - its not every day your team plays awful and gets away with a last minute victory

Got a PM from someone today saying about how a post requesting a cheap radar detector got everyone upset and started a big debate about speeding, before the post was deleted.
I hope I have not caused any conrovesy asking about the speed camera stuff on here, it was only intended as a backup just to let me know where dangerous\high accident rate areas are. Genearlly I dont speed, maybe 10 miles an hour over on a dual carridgeway or motorway but thats it.
Has anyone seen any good deals on PDA Sat Nav Systems. I want it to be legal software with a fairly decent PDA so I can use the PSA elsewhere
Thanks

For more information, try a forum search for 'Tom Tom Navigator' or 'PocketPC' or 'PDA' - there are loads of threads on this subject already. Use the search function below where it says "Welcome RussWWFC" rather than the one at the very top of the page, as that one seems to be broken.
In the meantime, hopefully someone can post some specific deals. He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0 -
As mentioned, pocketgpsworld is best source of info. and free software downloads, such as POI's like safety camera database. Often the best prices for stuff is via http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/22275 tho' check ebay (good sellers only and in UK!!) for deals on TomTom, GPS unit, wires, etc. Bluetooth versions save the wiring hassles but are quite a bit more expensive. Sat Nav is the best thing I've bought for a few years. Fab!
I have a IPaq 4150 which is an awesome piece of kit, wireless, bluetooth and super design throughout. Recommended 110% if you want PDA functionality. I have found that I usually only play solitaire and use the diary I added to it. So, am about to 'upgrade' to TomTom Mobile for Smartphone. One less gadget to carry - just hope I can still play solitaire :-)0 -
Highly reccomend the above kit £324.95 incl. VAT from

Does it all,the tomtom navigator is great with a bit of playing around I have audio warnings of speed cameras, full post code input, a divx player, mp3 player, Ebook reader the list goes on.
If you buy an wifi card you can also browse the internet.
One last point, Jane the voice of the sat nav sounds sooo sexy.
I am in love with her and my wife is jealous of her.0
