Trying to renegotiate mobile contract to save ££

I'm on a 18 month contract with T-mobile, runs until May. It's £35 p.m. with lots of extra mins etc etc - it was fine until I was made redundant. Now it's v v expensive!
Finally found someone to talk to at t-mobile (tip - if you want a quick answer select the 'I'm thinking of leaving t-mobile' option at every opportunity.
They tell me that they have a special measure they can put in place for people who've been made redundant - essentially they can scale my monthly payments back to around £15 p.m. but extend the contract by a further six months. I know it's not saving much in the long run but it is lowering my outgoings p.m.
Anyhow, I pleaded my case further and pointed out that I've amassed lots and lots of free mins etc and the customer service woman is speaking to her boss to see if they can do me a better deal.
Just shows - it's worth asking.
