Reclaiming Charges whilst on a DMP

Hi everyone, I have a quick question for you. I am on a DMP with CCCS and was wondering if its possible to reclaim charges whilst on a repayment plan. The charges won't put me back in credit but will help repay the debt quicker. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks.

I can't see why you shouldn't have a go at claiming them back. You will have to pay them to your DMP but as you say that will bring the debt down a bit. You still have the debt and the charges are still illegal.

But what worries me is that if I play hard ball so might they? I don'y wan't them to pay me back the charges and then to cancel my repayment plan. Do you think they would be happy to carry on with the DMP after I have requested repayment of charges? Thanks. Mark0

I'm on a DMP and have claimed back bank charges. Are you aware of the letters you must write? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi, Yes as I have claimed back from a couple of CC which I have not been on a dmp with. Did they not make life difficult after? Thanks0

Not sure if this helps, although i wasnt on a DMP i had arrears on some of the accounts i claimed for. So when i won they asked if they could use the money to pay off what was outstanding which was fine by me and the rest i was sent a cheque for.
I know looking in the counser action group board that alot them tell the company that they want a cheque as that is their entitlement
Go for it, i found the whole thing easy enough to do and have just started another claim
Hope that helps.
