Credit report issues

Hi guys and girls,
ive recently managed to pay off two out of three debts that were quite outstanding, naughty me i know, however the first has been paid off and the report now says satisfied, but the second is still showing as not paid even though i paid this over 6 weeks ago!
what can be done or said to the creditor?
also, does having a satisfied next to a default do anything to hurt my credit score? as in, now that ive paid it off, will that paid default hurt me score?
and last question, does anyone have any tips on building up a reputable credit score after a financial period?
i have moved from thinkbanking to take control of my own finances (and save £15 amonth) also i have 1 credit card (basic capital one, best for bad credit) and a savings account with natwest.
thank you:o

A satisfied default looks better than an unsatisfied one. However, a default always looks bad but they drop off your credit records 6 years after the date the default was registered.
As for building up your credit record, just use your credit card wisely - always pay at least the minimum, never be late making a payment, do not go over your credit limit and try not to sit on the limit of your card as this make it look like you're struggling. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

Hello,
As for managing a good credit score. Some of the golden rules are:- Always make payment, even if its only minimum payment. Late payments cant hurt allot.
- Do not apply for lots of accounts over a short period.
- Try to ensure the amount of debt you have, isnt the same as your available credit. If your using up 97% of your available credit this will hurt you aswell.
- Dont bother with Credit Expert, request a satuatory report from experian. The credit expert reports arent what your lenders see, and tend to contain duplication or really late information.
