Monday 8th November - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning everyone  well here we are again, back at Monday

Morning all. I have to drive to work today as I have to go to town straight after work to buy a birthday present for eldest, and also need to do a small shop. Got up late so haven't had time to make lunch (really should go NOW!).
I really need to lose weight. I'm ashamed to say that when I weighed myself this morning, I weigh 14 stone 8lb . Which is HUGE when you're only 5 foot 1. So I'm going to update my signature with this today, and really try and make an effort to lose some weight. My first mini-target is to lose 8lb by Christmas, which is just less than 7 weeks away.
So, I may not have a particularly good day spend-wise, but I am going to make some lifestyle changes today.
Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone,
As promised, I am joining in as from today! I hope that is okay. I have been looking forward to getting myself more organised and I think I could use this tool as a little "to do" list to keep me on track!
Im at work today and my plans are:-

-Work hard and get some things ticked off my work "to do" list
-Have mugshot, fruit and yoghurt for lunch (brought from home)
-Make use of free tea and coffee
-Use my lunch hour to renew library books online, compile a list of christmas presents I need to buy and look for any bargains for them online.
- Tonights dinner is prepared (home made fishcakes)
- Stick to my slimming world diet (only a few pounds to go to target now!)
It should be a no spending day for me.

Hi, I'm a bit new to all of this. Just in the process of setting up a DMP and looking at other ways of savings some pennies.
Feeling like I've had a productive morning somehow! I've managed to get free HomeStart cover out of the AA, switched my gas and electric to a cheaper tariff, done online grocery shopping with £12 off £60 sainsbury's voucher, had £17 in clubcard vouchers through the door which I will double up and put towards baby stuff later. Going to call the car insurance in a bit and see if I can reduce that since I'm no longer working and don't need the business cover and also call the home insurance and see if that's cheaper since I'll be in the house during the day now. Fingers crossed I can save a few quid there as well!
Any more tips?0 -
Today's majorly physical activities have been shelved....why? The chest ...:(
I did get out to the post office and picked up the calendars but now T is being awkward about giving me a bill for the next lot (got home and remembered I needed another one and he is the only place I know to get them) and wanting stamps for payment when that'll mean another trip out in the wilds with this chest ..He's getting a cheque and woe betide him if he takes his time cashing it. I pay on time...I expect my cheque to be cashed within the month preferably sooner.
Never mind the fact it took forever to get hold of him on the phone because he's too fossillized to get 1571......I'm hormonal and tired from lack of sleep due to nicotine overdose (which I've just made worse by mixing a new bottle that I made 3mg too strong without gloves on )...Och I'm just going to potter today and see what happens.....
Why I'm running antivirus again I have like NO idea...sure it's not rational...
Anyhow best go and check boards and OB and then try and get another 40 winks pre lunch..
Hugs
