manual coin sorter/money box

Hi all

As the title suggests I'm looking for a manual coin sorter/money box for my young nephews birthday with little success. Whilst searching the web I came accross the following post on MSE from a google search.

(I'm not allowed to add links and so you need to search the above title in forums)

Earthmother appears to have the exact same problems as me. However this post is a couple of years old. Like earthmother I am after a money box where you pop the coin into a slot, it goes down a couple of slopes and drops into the appropriate column. I remember these as a kid. Me and my brother had star wars and transformer themes to them (we were 80's kids). I have looked extensively on the internet where you can find either the zig zag or the coin sorter but not combined. I thought ebay would be a sure bet where I could at least pick up an old one but to no avail. As I write this however it occurs to me that coin shapes have changed since then.

Does anyone know where I can pick up a modern version.

Any help appreciated.

I have just been looking through an Avon book and there is one in there, went on the website to add the link but for some reason it doesn't show any gifts on their website (very strange!!) but it is a round jar and the coin s go round inside to the relevant storage pot. Various pots for various coins and it is £10. If you know anyone who does Avon you will be onto a winner. I had one of the ones that you mention where the coins go down a slope for my son a few years ago and if I remember rightly it came from one of those gadget type stores (not sure of the name though, sorry)

Thank you both for that. They weren't exactly what I was looking for, though what I'm looking for doesn't seem to exist anymore. Although I wanted something manual i think the Avon product would be more interesting for my nephew.
