Hey all,
Just a wee bit of a rant really! 3 weeks ago I managed to get my 2 bridesmaids together to shop for their dresses! We went into every shop in Milton Keynes and found some little shift dresses for a bargainous £20 each!!! My bridesmaids loved them, I wasnt sure. Anyway I dropped them off at my mums last week and then when I went over this Sunday, she sat me down and said she didnt want to upset me but that she didnt think they were very bridesmaidy and the colour was more lilac than pink (Our colours are sage and dusky pink) and was I really genuinely happy with them or was I just going along with them as bridesmaids liked them. She is (as she always is) completely right, I didnt really like them, I was just trying to convince myself I liked them. So today I took them back but now I have no bridesmiad dresses (Although that isnt so much of a problem at the mo as we dont get married until next Sept) but very little money (I was informed of my redundancy in Dec this week:() to look for new ones.
So really, what I am asking is, if anyone comes accross any bridesmaidy dresses that are not expensive please could you give me a shout
Thanks muchly and sorry for whinging, the redundancy is getting me down what with Christmas next month and the wedding

What is your budget and what sizes?
I got my dresses from ebay, £10 for the pair. Full length Watters & Watters bridesmaid dresses in dusky pink.
Worth keeping your eye out, especially as you have time to look and you only need two.

what sizes do you need? these come in 10-16 and if you click on their shop and search for 'pink dress' it brings up more of them

Thanks ladies for all your help. I am after Dusky pink or Sage green sizes 8/10 and 10/12.
Gonna pop into town at lucn to the material shop and look at some patterns, my see if mum will make them as she made mine for my bros wedding and it was lush - I remember her getting stresed about them though! x0 -
My marvellous mum is making mine in a pale sage green 'liquid satin' (ie is nice and floaty). Its costing 8.95 per metre for material (2 metres per dress and sash) and then extra for zips but the costs will be under £30 per dress.
I have gone for a simple dress pattern and we are thinking of adding a cheap primark petticoat with some cheap net underneath to fluff them out a bit and make them a bit special. We are using a Pattern from Vogue very easy collection V8446. (newbie so cant post links!)
I did look in shops for cheap sage coloured dresses but I couldnt see any. You are more likely to find pink and I think dusky pink may be harder still so perhaps making the dress would be a good option?
and I thought sage and pink would be a nice easy colour for my wedding...0 -

Lovely pattern, and very flattering! Are you going for a contrasting pink sash?Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

was going to but they have pink flowers in their hair and some amazing vintage looking pink shoes from New Look (a bargain at £3!!!!). Plus I bought them all pale pink freshwater pearl bracelets as their present (£5 each at a craft fair) so I think its enough pink.
Our theme isnt really supposed to be pink and sage there are other pastel colours in the bouquets as well and the barn decoration is a bit mixed with pastel bunting etc. but somehow the bridesmaids have ended up in pink and sage!0
