Burnt rose petals, that should be my name

Options
I think it's high time I made one of these.

I was paid on 29 October, i.e. a week ago, and now there's under £100 in the account to last me for the next three-and-a-bit. I've no idea what's in my freezer or if it's even edible at this stage (I can't remember how long it's been there!) :o

I'm thoroughly tired of never having any money to do anything, and although I only have one credit card it's already up to its limit (well, *above* its limit until the payment I made today goes through :o:o).

I owe money just about everywhere and somehow however much money I have it's never enough. So here is where I start again, more or less.

No more lunch at work; that's going to have to go. But I think I might make an excuse for tomorrow, seeing as it's my birthday and all. ;)

Happy birthday for tomorrow, and happy light bulb moment day for today!

Audit the freezer - seriously, one draw at a time, list everything you have. if it's unidentifiable and unlabelled, then put asiude in a specific area in one drawer and take those items out one at a time to defrost at a time when you have time to cook, then you can see what you have once defrosted, and plan accordingly!

    Good luck!

happy new diary and happy birthday for tomorrow. can you not try to get your payments lower for a couple of months if you are struggling. £100 is a challenge for a month especially if you havent got alot of food in.

like beanielou said pop up a soa and people will be able to give you suggestions on where to save.

hi and welcome to the boards. If you are always running through your money, then a spending diary is a must. It can be something as unfancy as a 50p notebook from the cheap shop, or else there is an online spending diary too. You put down EVERY spend and do this for a couple of weeks. You will be amazed at where that money goes, and also how much you spend on 'nothing'. One person was famously horrified to fine out they were spending £100 a month on coffees from starbucks or similar place!

Also now is the time to make sure all your money is working as hard as possible for you, ie, that all of your utilities are with the cheapest providers, the same with insurances, checking whether you can drop to a lower tariff on your moblie, or even go payg.

Good luck. Sometimes things will be hard, but this is the first day of a new start, so go for it
