Price you reserve is the price you pay

Recently ALL stores have been issued new FFE guidelines, one of which is regarding the age old price/reservation argument.
Whilst most stores would have given you the price you reserved it at, it is now policy for all stores to sell the reserved goods at the price they were reserved at. Just make sure you have proof of the price the item was when you reserved it, as this is the only way it can be overrode - like a till receipt or an email confirming reservation.
hope this helps someone :j

Not advertised
, Its just authorisation to do it if "we want". We by no means have to!, It depends on the customer, if they are a pain in the !!!! I won't mention that we can do it, I'm fairly sure the internet etc still states the price you pay is the price in store on the day! 0 -
happened to me at the weekend. reserved some reebok weight at 14.99 / instore they were 19.99.. got em for 14.99

My reservation email states the price item was when reserved - but it does state the price in store at the time of purchase is the price applicable.0

it wont be actively publicised because of the money it could potentially save argos.. its just not business sense.
but all stores have been briefed. therefore so long as you have proof of the reservation, stand your ground..but be POLITE!know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Its not selective.
A customer reserves an item thats on offer, they go to collect it the following day but find the offer has ended, naturally they are disappointed! but the store can choose to honour the price from the previous offer (As thats what the customer expected - reserving the item while it was on promotion!), its totally upto managers descression, if you go in with an attitude you will get nowhere!
If it was fully advertised, an offer would always be offer?
"You sold it at this price x months ago, i want it at that price etc"
Its just authorisation from Head Office to do something that has been unofficically done in stores for ages!0 -
Always did that anyway (basic goodwill), for me nothings changed which kinda made it a useless briefing.
Don't think the official line (i.e. The price you pay will be the price in store on the day you collect and pay for your items.) will be removed from the phone lines or web site as ther are far too many loopholes in the current reservation system if it was.
Would like to see it overhauled to reserve price as well as product (and bundle/package deal while their at it.) Doubt we'll see it though (HO always thinking about £££ and not customer first!)

p.s. as pavlovs_dog mentioned stand you ground but be polite. Goodwill is rare for a adult throwing a tantrum. My views and opinions are my own and do not represent those of my employer(s) or anyone else0 -
I doubt if it will work in all cases - for example, I just managed to reserve Singstar rocks with mics and buzz, both for ps2, for £4.98 - as the ps2 that was part of the deal is out of stock.
Will they honour it? I seriously doubt it! SHall I try? Probably not.0 -

will they honour it? if you try and buy the games minus the console, then no, as they are only available at that price as part of a bundle deal. when your reservation is brought up on the till, the games will be normal pirce, unless all items are entered (this what triggers the till to discount items to achieve the bundle price).
there is one tactic you could try to get the bundle: buy the games, keep them sealed and keep your receipt safe. go to a local store which has stock of the PS console, and they will (in most circumstances) be prepared to refund the games so that they can resell them to you as part of the bundle.
