How much should you pay for a valuation on a new house

I am buying a new house I have used a mortgage broker from New Homes Mortgages. They have charged me £795 for a valuation. Nat West have said that the valuation only cost £295. Why have we had to pay New Homes so much. They just say that this is their charges and not Nat West's. We have also had to pay £295 for fees to them when they advertise it as £95 on their website. The house price is £405, 000. It feels wrong but New Homes insist this is all above board

Did they tell you/did you ask about the fees before anything was done?0

from only £95 does not mean it will be £95 it means it won't be any less than £95 but could be more. The website says the fee is up to 1.5% of the advanced amount. So to me on a mortgage of £100,000 the could be up to £1,500.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
