Tesco value shampoo / Sainsbury's basics

I'm not sure if this is the right board, but if not, can someone please nudge me in the right direction?
I recently tried out Tesco value shampoo (orange, about 30p) and Sainsbury's basics shampoo (orange, about 30p) and both appeared to be exactly the same, and I loved how they made my hair feel.
Now I notice from mysupermarket.com that Tesco seem to have stopped selling the orange 30p-ish shampoo and are instead doing blue 38p shampoo. I'm not too fussed about paying the extra, but is there any difference between the orange shampoo and the blue shampoo apart from the colour?

if the 2 from tesco are both listed as economy then no, only difference i could think of is the colouring(or equivalent) used for it0 -
I just assumed they were chopping and changing supplier according to where they could source it most cheaply. I suppose the only way I can find out is to try it myself. I just thought that someone on here might have tried both the old and the new stuff.0

My neice who's a trained hairdresser say's the cheap stuff is just as good as the expensive stuff, guess it just comes down to which you prefer.0

I found the Tesco one gave my hair a lovely shine, whereas the Sainsbury's one made it look quite dull...all depends on your own hair I guess!!Wins for 2022: Hydratem8 Water bottle, diary, flowers, Good food show tickets, childrens books x3,
Thanks to all who post the comps & please let the comping fairy sprinkle dust on my entries!0 -
A little off track l know but....it gets me today how you can see people what l call 'dirty' and it questions as to why when you can buy both washing powder and personal hygiene products at such low prices.0

Paul I used to work with someone who said the same thing, at the end of the day it's plain laziness.0

I think I'll go ahead and try the Tesco blue stuff.0 -
I ended up using the blue one as toilet cleaner, I didn't think it was as good I don't know why.
If you don't like it it won't go to waste as you can just clean the bathroom with it, it doesn't smell too badI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I'm big on using stuff up for something else. I've previously used shampoo that was no good on hair as handwash. I wish someone would simply devise an all-purpose detergent for everything from hair to hands to kitchen counters to washing up to floors to loos...0

That would be brilliant! Just imagine - one bottle in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Think how much more space you'd have under the sink :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
