Cheapest Digital Photo Frame

Starting the old xmas pressie hunt early and came across the idea of a digital photo frame. I've looked around a lot of stores and they are generally around £100 or more.

However, I've managed to find this little treat for just £49.99 inc delivery from amazon. It's not in stock yet, but you can pre-order it. Does exactly what it needs to do, but without the unattractive price tag. Can you find it cheaper?

This was mentioned before on here, and someone said that because of the measurements the pictures would be stretched? You can get a good 8" one off Ebay for about £75, those are what I have been buying.
  • what would i search under in ebay for the above frame ?

Ah yes, The resolution is very skewed indeed. That's such a shame. Well the next best thing i can find is on pixmania. £66 but it's 5.6". Still if you are on a budget i suppose it's not too bad. I must check ebay also.

Indeed! I have great trouble thinking of what presents to buy, but you can't really go wrong with this!

Update: Ebay doesn't seem that great for prices.

Play also do a 5.6" frame for £79.99 inc del. Use the £5 off voucher brings it to £74.99 and then on top of that any cashback services, this one isn't too bad for price. Might be able to get it close to £70 if you're lucky.

I'll post any more of my finds if i get any worth mentioning.

So does the screen have to be 8' to avoid this problem?

    Thanks

As far as i know, no. It's the screen resolution you should be worried about. 480 x 234 would produce a skewed image unless your photos are really wide (which generally they won't be).

Well firstly you want it as big as you can really. But 320x240 should be ok even though its fairly on the small side - it will keep your photo's in proportion. If you have any photo editing software (such as photoshop or something like that), try editing the resolution of the photo to that of the Digital Photo Frame. This will give you a preview of what your photo's will look like. I may post up some example photo's tomorrow to give you a better idea.

The problem with the Photo Frame i posted is that it works at 480x234, which means your photos will become way out of proportion and really wide.
