Or buy flat sheets and have a go at making your own? (what if you put on bed and then pinned corners on the bed before taking off and sewing? I imagine that would be the cheapest way of doing it. HTH

Standard size flat sheets aren't much different in size to 'unpicked' fitted ones. Also, in many ranges whilst the widths of the different sizes (double/king/etc) vary, the lengths do not which is really unhelpful.

I have a problem with the depth of my mattress due to the addition of a memory foam topper. No problem with the skill of making my own, it is the fabric colour matching that is the problem, ie, matching the sheet to the fabric in the valance, duvet cover, pillow cases, curtains, etc, with the spares you need whilst one is in the wash. Life's a bit too short! You can buy deeper/longer sheets but the colour ranges are extremely limited.

In my experience, if you want non standard sizes you can source them but you're pretty much stuck with white or cream.

You can actually get fitted sheets made of a really stretchy material. It's similar to flanlette, but is so stretchy that I can easily put it on my double mattress the wrong way.

I can't remember what the material is called, but it's worth asking in bedding shops to see if they have anything similar (possibly Dunelm Mills).
