Need to have OS Xmas delivered but not to my home address

Weve just decided that we are all spending xmas at my boyfriends 140 miles away this year. He will be working until late on xmas eve so I am going to be doing most of the cooking and shopping. I will be travelling to his with the children on about the 22nd or 23rd december. The problem is I need to do an online shop before I go and arrange to have it delivered to my bf's address instead of mine (do Tesco do this?). Does anyone know how far in advance you can do an online shop and book a delivery slot? I imagine they will book up quick right near xmas. Or are there any other online shops which will do OS food and deliver it?

All useful replies will be thanked.

  • Just register a new account at his address. Need to make sure they deliver there first. Shouldnt be a problem. You could always contact Tesco to ask them:confused:

    Hi Black Saturn,
yes you can put alternate addresses into tesco for deliveries as I get wine delivered to my aunt at xmas.
I remember a post going up last year as soon as tesco xmas bookings became available.I would personally check first week in december.
We spent last xmas at my partners and it was lovely, hope you enjoy yours.
My partners staying at mine this year I'm hoping not to let him return in new year. :-)

asda, iceland and sainsburys also do home deliveries
  • Hi BS - yes Tesco can deliver to another address - I do an online shop regularly for my Aunties who live in Winchester and I am in Liverpool. You just go to my account and click on add an address - it's that easy! Last year they released delivery slots about the second week in November, if I remember correctly. What I did was pick a slot and put a couple of things in my basket and checked them out. Then all I did was keep amending the basket every time I remembered something I had forgotten. One thing I would say though is that there were loads of substitutes on my Christmas order, and loads of things which were out of stock, which really p*ssed me off and meant I had to go to the shop anyway. I find that Asda are much better for having things in stock and if they do substitute you get the sub item at the same price if it is more expensive. You can also add addresses for Asda - but my Aunties prefer Tesco.

I'm sure one of the screens asks you to confirm the delivery address. I used to have 2 on because I ordered flowers for a friend once, going to her house obviously! :)

I must get organised this year and bag myself a xmas shopping delivery slot, last year the closest I could get was after new year, lol.

Thanks everyone. I don't know if Asda deliver to his area but I know they don't to mine. I usually shop at Iceland but they don't do online shopping. I've never thought of Sainsburys but I will give them a look.

i'll just repeat what others have said, but tescos can deliver to another address. I did an order for our self catering holiday in cornwall, and another to work for the christmas buffet

Tesco will be a safe bet. I'm not sure when they will release the Christmas delivery dates - maybe you could find out on the website -but what I do know for sure is that they get taken up within days - so my advice is to book a slot no matter how early, put a few items in your trolley randomly to confirm it, then go back nearer the time, as soon as you're ready, to amend it with your 'real' shopping list.

Thanks. I will do as you say! It's a bit silly really because if I do online shopping with Tesco it will be delivered from the shop he works in!! But he's got such long hours over xmas, no car and a 30 minute walk to work every day so it will be impossible for him to do it all.
